Patrol deputies have the most interaction with the citizens of Grant County. They patrol 418 square miles and enforce traffic laws on over 830 miles of paved highway.
There are four patrol shifts at the Grant County Sheriff's Department. Deputies work 12 hour shifts. The two day shifts are supervised by Lieutenant Ed Beaty. Lt. Beaty along with day shift Sergeants Mike Moore and Sgt.Jim Kinzie, oversee eleven deputies.
The night shift supervisor is Lieutenant Todd Fleece. Sgt. Eric Fields, Sgt. Patrick Kolb and Sgt. Jason Ewer also supervise nine deputies on two night shifts.
Patrol duties include crime response and prevention, serving civil process papers, warrant service, crash investigation, and rendering general assistance to the public.
Captain Mike Ross is the Patrol Operations Commander.
